Compute Village’s first energy partnership is live. We’ve joined forces with Proline — a Texas natural-gas producer — to power modular AI data centers directly on their fields. The point isn’t a press release. It’s capacity you can reserve today.

Every AI infrastructure conversation now ends at the same bottleneck: power. Demand is compounding faster than utilities can build, and the traditional answer — a new substation, a transmission line, a multi-year interconnection study — is measured in years. In this market, access to power decides how fast you can scale. The largest AI builders have already figured this out, signing hundreds of megawatts of on-site gas generation rather than wait in the grid queue.

We built Compute Village around that same logic — and Proline is where it starts.

Who is Proline

Proline is an independent natural-gas operator producing across East Texas, South Texas, and the onshore Gulf Coast. Their discipline is taking mature, under-optimized gas assets and getting more out of them — exactly the kind of steady, already-producing supply that makes for reliable behind-the-meter power. The gas is flowing now. This isn’t a field we’re hoping to drill; it’s production that exists today.

Power at the wellhead, below the grid

Under the partnership, Proline delivers gas to Compute Village’s on-site generation at competitive rates below grid electricity prices, and we convert it into behind-the-meter power for dedicated AI compute. We never pull from ERCOT — so we don’t compete with communities for electricity or push up their bills, and we don’t inherit the utility’s queue either. Cheap fuel at the source becomes cheap, predictable inference for our customers.

Ready availability is the whole point

Most “energy-backed” compute is a plan: a site to be permitted, a substation to be built, power that arrives someday. Ours is different because the energy is already here. Proline’s fields are producing, the sites are identified, and our data centers are modular — they ship, drop onto the pad, and energize. That collapses the industry’s standard multi-year wait to live capacity in under 90 days. When you reserve H200s with us, you’re reserving against power that already exists.

A template, not a one-off

Proline is the first field, not the last. The same playbook — a producing gas partner, on-site power below grid cost, modular data centers that energize in months — repeats field by field, basin by basin. Every under-utilized gas asset in Texas is a potential Compute Village site. We start where the power already is, and scale from there.
